As February comes to a close, our thoughts turn to spring. But hold up, there are still some winter milestones you need to snap before the snow melts. Here are five winter photos not to miss of your kids.
1. Do You Want to Build a Snowman?
Is it really winter if you don’t snap a few shots of your child building a snowman? Catch all the details and from start to finish and make it into a fantastic collage that shows the progression.
2. Taste Test
Something as simple as catching snowflakes on your tongue is charming. Everyone does it, even adults. It’s a right of winter passage. Here’s a little known photography hack. If you don’t have snow flurries, you can actually digitally put them into the picture. We found THIS great tutorial from PHLEARN on how to add snow to your photos.
3. Friends in Cold Places
Winter activities with friends and family are a great snap. Don’t just photograph your child but snap them with their friends. These are photos you can print out and give your children. Try some fun square photos to decorate their room.
As they say, it’s all in the details. From the red mittens to the ice skates, make sure to snap some photos of those important details. These are really important when building a photo book as they can help the story of winter in your child’s life.
5. Spread Your Wings
Change your perspective on winter. Have your mini-me’s make snow angels. You don’t necessarily need to get a full body image, like the image above the most important part of this photo is the look on the child’s face. How fabulous would this image be as a larger metal print for your wall?
As the seasons change, it’s important to remember to capture your tribe enjoying the elements. These photos will lend themselves perfectly to a year in review photo book for your 2019. Want to make a year in review photo book? Check out this blog article on how easy it is! Click HERE.
